Deborah’s Testimony

“After going through a divorce and gaining 30 lbs. on top of being 20 lbs. overweight, finding the Skinny Coach was a gift from God.

After talking to Tiffany for 20 minutes, I knew I had to do this. I knew I had to change my eating habits drastically. After starting the diet, I have realized that food doesn’t control me anymore. That I am eating to live and not living to eat. Eating fast food and sweets does not enter my mind. (But I do feel like an alcoholic. That 1 bite would send me over the edge. I take one day at a time.). I know what I am going to eat and how much. I know I will not order a diet coke or buy them at the market. I know I can go out on a date or to dinner with friends and be okay with everyone having the delicious bread and a cocktail.”

Am I a Sugar Addict or Not?

Who hasn’t had a binge-eating episode? If you have not, then just shut down this email and go away because I hate you. Hehe.

Pretty much everyone has had a binge, but when it is due to addiction or to deal with some type of trauma, we have to start talking about ways to control it.

We have urges, and whether you want to admit it or not, you do have control over your eating urges. When you are in the food addiction circles on Facebook, it is very easy to fall into the ‘victim’ mentality. “I can’t control myself” or “I am addicted; it is out of my control” – NONSENSE. Of course you have control. It might be hard because you might be physiologically addicted to the substance, but, nevertheless, YOU are putting it in your mouth.

What you have control over is setting yourself up in a way that makes binging less likely. The way I did it was not eating anything with sugar or flour in the ingredients. I was not able to diet, not even for a day. I was overweight for decades. Nevertheless, at some point I decided no sugar or flour – NO MATTER WHAT – and just like that – even though I am addicted to sugar, I no longer eat it.

Pick a rule, any rule, and, no matter what, do not break that rule and, by the principles of neuroplasticity, you will no longer be out of control. Remember I am a sugar addict, but I don’t eat sugar. Am I a sugar addict or not?

Change Your Brain

Rewiring your brain so that you no longer crave foods that cause you to be fat is the single most important step to maintaining your weight loss. Any diet will work to lose weight if you can stay on it – but no one does. Why? Because they have not reconditioned their brain. Food manufacturers have specifically designed foods to produce irresistible cravings by activating the addictive responses and advertising is truly a science that produces triggers, like Pavlov’s dogs, to go for the food at all costs.

How do you re wire your brain? You can’t! It takes a teacher, a mentor to show you and give you a language. You have to learn how to think differently and you need someone that thinks that way to help you through it. There are few things as difficult to do as changing the way you think about food and eating and to expect that you can do it on your own is a recipe for a fat disaster.

Luckily, that is exactly what we do with The Skinny Coach Solution … we are here to help guide you through your life changing, brain changing, body changing journey.

Visceral fat

The New England Journal of Medicine looked at more than 350,000 people found that those with belly fat have a higher risk of DYING compared to their peers without a spare tire. Why? Because belly fat is metabolically and biologically active. Belly fat functions as an endocrine organ producing hormones and other chemical messengers and toxins that affect appetite, insulin action and that increase inflammation and make it difficult for your other organs like your kidneys, liver and heart work properly. For instance, visceral fat is located close to the vein that carries blood to your liver. The hormones and toxins that belly fat produce gets in that vein and is carried to your liver. One effect is that it causes your liver to produce more LDL cholesterol, which can collect in your arteries oxidize and become inflamed leading to swelling that narrows the arteries, restrict blood flow, strains your heart and leads to heart attacks and strokes. Belly fat also PRODUCES glucose, or blood sugar, which causes your body to produce insulin with eventually leads to type 2 diabetes.

Exercise won’t help, low carb diets won’t help, calorie restriction will not help and low fat REALLY won’t help.

It is not a big secret, trick or gadget. Nothing will work that does not get rid of the foods that actually make dangerous visceral fat. You will lose that fat belly by eliminating the foods that block your hormonal signals that say you are full and that addict your brain, foods that changes your brain chemicals so that it addicts you to that food. It is truly easy to drop the fat once you take those foods out of your diet. Luckily if you are reading this, you have removed sugar and flour! Bravo!

Artificial sweeteners really are that bad for you – really bad

Free sugars are defined as sugars added to foods by the manufacturer, cook, or consumer…or those naturally present in fruit juices, syrups, and honey.

Sucralose has a short history, conflicting evidence regarding its toxicity, and is not broken down by enzymes, meaning that whether it is absorbed through our intestine or excreted, it will likely be done so intact.

Many more of the studies which found sucralose to be safe were designed to test the genotoxicity of sucralose, meaning they tested to see if sucralose acted upon our DNA. Sucralose, according to the studies, is not carcinogenic or genotoxic, but that doesn’t mean it is not toxic in any other regard. In fact, one study found that sucralose at levels of 500 mg/kg was hepatotoxic and nephrotoxic–it accumulated in amounts sufficient enough to cause lesions in the liver and the kidneys.

It’s important to note that 500 mg/kg is far more sucralose than a human would consume in a day, about 34g for a 150-pound adult (or 680 packets of Splenda), but if sucralose accumulates in the liver and kidneys, as this study demonstrates, then a similar effect could build from years of habitual use as opposed to occurring in one month, as happened in the study.

Marge’s Testimony

“Tiffany, this morning when I pulled on my jeans, I heard myself say, “This is pretty amazing.” And it is amazing that I am wearing jeans, without an elastic waist, without thunder thighs. I have never shed pounds this easily, and have never before KNOWN they would stay off. Forever. Thank you for The Skinny Coach Solution.”

What 3 things increase IQ

Omega-3s!  Omega-3s from fish and other marine sources help prevent heart disease, dementia, certain cancers, type 2 diabetes, and arthritis and boosts immunity, eye health, and lung function. They also increase IQ, especially in children and babies. Americans consume about 1.6 grams of omega-3 fatty acids per day on average, but 90% come from alpha-linolenic acid (ALA.) ALA comes from plant sources like vegetable oils or flaxseed. We don’t need ALA; we need eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) to reap the benefits listed above. You should also know that DHA is the most important fat in your brain and is more powerful than EPA. Be sure to look for a supplement that has 3 times more DHA than EPA, that has been independently tested to ensure that it is free of toxins such as PCBs and heavy metals like mercury and lead, and that has been 3rd party tested to contain the amount of omega-3s that they claim.

Skinny Tea

I tell my Skinny Girls to drink green tea every day. But any type of tea is great. Rhodiola Rosea is an herb that you can drink as a tea that has fabulous fat burning, energy boosting, and brain enhancing power. Rhodiola contains an active compound called rosavin that has been proven to burn fat. It stimulates an enzyme, called lipase, which breaks down fat that is stored in belly tissue. Rhodiola also increases the sensitivity of serotonin and dopamine. These neurotransmitters are known for increasing focus, memory, pleasure, and improving mood. It has also been shown to help fight food cravings.

Nothing is going to be better for you than being in control over your behavior and getting sugar and flour out of your diet, but supplementing with Rhodiola can give a healthy benefit to your new Skinny life.

Maureen’s testimony

Day 140…wow…I can’t believe I’m at this day. It seems to have gone very quickly. I think about how miserable I was before. Chaffing thighs, tight fitting clothes…I didn’t want to buy new ones because I refused to admit I was a size 16. I was going to shove myself into size 14 no matter what. I would only allow 1 piece of clothing in my closet size 16 and that was a dress to wear for my youngest son’s Communion 2 years ago. I HATE to look at that picture…I can’t believe how big I looked and it’s painful to see that. I’ve attached that picture.

Today I wear a size 8!! I can’t remember the last time I wore a size 8! I was thinking this morning about the first time I joined Weight Watchers. That was between my 2nd and 3rd child. I was probably 135-140 pounds. I remember struggling with the whole effort and the fact that I would trade some of my points for sweets and skip nutritious foods just so I could eat cookies or cake. I was on Weight Watchers 3 or 4 times and it was always the same. I can’t ever be on a food plan that always sugar (or processed foods for that matter)…EVER! That is why I couldn’t succeed. I know that now.

Could I have done the Skinny Coach Solution before? I don’t know. I can remember talking to a friend who gave up sugar and thinking, “I could never do that!”, but I recognized I wasn’t ready then. I was sick and tired of feeling run down and having no energy, feeling fat, walking with chaffing thighs, having my stomach rest on the top of my thighs when I sat down. I was tired of my youngest son not being able to put his arms around me when he gave me a hug. I was tired of squeezing into my size 14 clothes and not being able to fit comfortably in them. I was ready to give up my addiction to sugar, I was ready to do something different. I was ready to give up the food fight and I was ready to take control of the food instead of the food controlling me.

It was a very quick transition for me and truthfully I have not struggled much. I have been happy with SCS from day one. Every so often I’ve had cravings and from talking with you, know that it might be that sugar creeped in somewhere. But I have fully embraced The Skinny Coach Solution diet. I love it!! To me it’s simple, planned and not complicated. Some people might not like the planning aspect of it but that is what I needed. I needed to plan my food so that I knew exactly what to eat. There is simplicity, safety and comfort in that for me. I can’t imagine going back to eating the way I did…ever! Thank you Tiffany for developing SCS! I am forever grateful!

I have friends who are struggling with their weight (guess what they are eating???) and they ask how am I losing weight and when I tell them what I eliminated (no sugar, etc.) they say, “I could never do that!”, I smile to myself and know they are not ready yet. But if and when they are, I know where to refer them! Thank you again Tiffany!!
